At West End Neighborhood House, staff, clients, volunteers, and donors work together to resolve complex social challenges throughout Delaware. Through our outcomes-driven programming, we provide support that meets each of our customer’s unique needs, whether that be in finances, housing, education, employment, or family services. West End Neighborhood House provides programs, services, support and advocacy when and where they are needed to ensure our families become self-sufficient, and our communities thrive.

event_available Cornerstone West Community Development Corporation (CDC) Cornerstone West Community Development Corporation (CDC) was established by a partnership between St. Francis Hospital and West End Neighborhood House in 1999, focusing primarily on housing development for low- to moderate-income families. Cornerstone West CDC develops housing that meets the needs of New Castle County’s low to moderate-income families and serves as a proactive catalyst for community revitalization in Wilmington’s West Side. Cornerstone’s housing development strategy focuses on meeting the diversity of West Side’s housing needs to strengthen and preserve this mixed-income community. Now, they provide a variety of community programming and resources.

Our personal financial coaching is a confidential one-on-one relationship with a knowledgeable financial coach to help you : - Identify financial goals - Map out a plan of action - Create a working budget - Develop new habits and break old ones - Deal with debt collectors - Eliminate debt.

The Launcher program is currently serving Delaware’s communities in Wilmington’s West Side, Dover, Claymont, Bellefonte, and Edgemoor.
event_available Environmental Training Program The Environmental Job Training Program offers employment opportunities in careers that reduce environmental contamination and provide more sustainable futures for the community, with an emphasis on reducing environmental contamination. In these free, 4-week training programs, Delaware residents can earn up to 12 professional certifications in: - OSHA 10 (General Construction Safety) - OSHA 40 – HAZWOPER (Hazardous Materials Technician) - OSHA Confined Space Entry (CSE) - Aerial Lift and Mobile Scaffolding Basics - Scissor Lift - Mold Remediation/Water Intrusion Worker - Lead RRP (Renovation, Repair, and Painting) - Forklift Operator - Asbestos Worker - Lock Out/Tag Out - Soil Sampling - Blood Borne Pathogens.

event_available Security Deposit Loan Program The Statewide Security Deposit Loan Program has assisted low-moderate income families and individuals since 1993. Given that the total cost of a security deposit, first month’s rent, utility deposit, and moving expenses often exceed available resources, successful applicants can use assistance available through the program to pay for both security and utility deposits. Since inception, the security deposit program has provided loans or grants of over $2.3 million to more than 8,000 families and individuals. In addition to financial assistance, the program also provides case management.
event_available Food Closet West End’s food closet provides a 5-day supply of non-perishable items and frozen foods (as available) to individuals and families in need. To qualify, applicants need only present a valid Delaware ID and call to make an appointment.

event_available Childcare Center West End Neighborhood House is a licensed Childcare Center authorized by the Office of Childcare Licensing and offers Before Care, After Care and Virtual Learning support for children ages five to 12. Our doors open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 5:50 p.m. Our staff members have each taken the necessary classes through Delaware’s Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood and are position-qualified through Delaware’s Department of Education.

The Delaware Prevention Coalition plays a vital role in its mission to fight substance abuse for safe alcohol and drug-free communities throughout New Castle County, Delaware.
event_available Re-Entry Program West End’s statewide Re-Entry program provides up to 8 weeks of rental assistance for individuals who are exiting incarceration and re-integrating into their communities. West End partners with several local organizations that provide supportive services (such as employment training) that help stabilize participants as they work toward self-sufficiency.
