About

The Friendly Tutors was founded by Matt Payne, an experienced educator who has been teaching and tutoring since 2012. Over this time, Matt has found that students learn best when they are taught within an environment that inspires enthusiasm and is open to student feedback rather than one that pushes rote memorization and rigid inflexibility. With his time spent as a private tutor, Matt also recognizes the impact that one-on-one instruction can have on a student’s learning. The mission of The Friendly Tutors grows out of this background and seeks to develop individualized and flexible learning plans for every student within a friendly and productive environment.

With a bad teacher, learning a language can become an endless maze of memorization, but with a good teacher, it can become an exciting puzzle where each element fits together into one coherent whole.
event_available Math Our Friendly Tutors understand that math is like a tree with many subjects branching off and building upon select core concepts. If the fundamental roots of a student’s learning are shaky, more advanced concepts will be consistently frustrating.

We know that the sciences can be daunting, but with years of teaching experience, our tutors have the expertise and patience to break things down, making even the most difficult concepts easily understandable.
