Joan Peters, owner of The Liberty Lake Learning Center, has an extensive background in education educating the at-risk youth, special needs students, and school-age students. With twenty-plus years experience, Joan has a Master of Arts in Teaching from USF, and has been a Reading Specialist for twenty years. Joan specializes in dyslexia, dysgraphia, vision-related learning problems, and auditory processing disorders.

Her reading method is scientifically-based, proven, effective, and has been evaluated as “one of the best reading methods around.” Joan is soon to publish her book, The Letter, Sound, Syllable Approach: A Comprehensive Reading Method for All Learners. Joan has also developed an effective math method to be published as well.

Joan has a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from USC’s School of Music and is a classically-trained pianist. Joan has been playing the piano for forty years and studied with master teachers John Perry, Daniel Pollack, Alicia de Larrocha, Eduardo Legado, and Ilana Vered. She has been teaching private piano lessons for twenty-nine years and offers piano lessons at a master's level, as well as beginning, intermediate, and advanced.
