Originally founded as the Institute for Atmospheric Optics and Remote Sensing (IFAORS) in 1976, Takshashila Institute (also known as Taksha, or TI) is a dynamic, not-for-profit, non-degree or diploma-awarding, independent minority institution of advanced research and learning, engaged in research projects and learning activities for all ages from kindergarten to life-long learning, for personal, professional, and inner-growth enhancement. Incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Taksha has its headquarters in Hampton, Virginia, with a Silicon Valley office to support events and projects on the West Coast, as well. Our team of Advisors consists of carefully selected, highly qualified experts who offer a wide range of experience and talent to meet the varied needs of our special projects and community, including professionals in academia, healthcare, government, industry, international organizations, and other walks of life.

event_available Department of Meetings Services As a support division of TI, the Department of Meeting Services, also known as Meetings Management International (MMI), provides a full spectrum of meetings services from concept development to the delivery of end products, such as conference proceedings. MMI provides a one-stop, full-service, turn-key system. Professional meeting planners and meeting organizers with over 100 years of cumulative, diverse experience, and state-of-the-art hardware and software, provide the essentials for smooth and successful meeting management. MMI has over 30 years of hands-on experience in planning and organizing all types and sizes of over 200 meetings, including conferences, tutorials, symposia, workshops, “blue-ribbon” panels, expositions, demonstrations, and theme events, both in the United States and abroad. It has the experience and resources for organizing classified meetings, and producing the proceedings.
event_available Department of Publishing Services As the publications support division of TI, the Department of Publishing Services (DPS), includes multi-media services, editorial services, and support for virtually all popular word processing, graphics, and web-related software. The manuscript production staff can work with manuscripts from basic camera-ready copy through complete electronic documents. The DPS supports TI’s contracts in the production of reports, newsletters, announcements, meeting agendas, brochures, direct/bulk mailings, database maintenance, and signage, and is available to fulfill direct contract requirements.

event_available TAKSHA CENTER FOR INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE AND YOGA Chaired by Dr. Dilip Sarkar, MD, FACS, C-IAYT, D. Litt (Yoga), Taksha’s Center of Integrative Medicine and Yoga (CIMY) includes programs in diagnostic and therapeutic modalities that integrate a (w)holistic approach to pathology and treatment, with physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects. Current offerings under CIMY include seminars on integrative medicine and complementary medical methodologies, such as Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Energy Medicine, as well as Space Health in a Microgravity Environment.
