The Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam is a competitive entrance exam in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). It is a gateway to join the Indian Armed Forces Academy, including the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy, as a commissioned officer. The CDS exam is conducted twice a year, typically in February and November. To be eligible to take the CDS exam, candidates must be an Indian citizen, unmarried male/female and meet certain age and educational requirements. The exam consists of two stages, a written exam and an interview, and tests the candidate's knowledge in English, general knowledge and elementary mathematics
