About

The project has been designed to address three critical areas, using best practices, to promote K-12 student success: 1) teaching and mentorship by individuals currently in doctoral programs and who reflect the demographics of the target audience; 2) consistent exposure to a university environment so that students can envision their future career pathways; and 3) in depth training on the scientific method and understanding of cutting edge technologies and research. In addition, this project will help strengthen the relationship between the Merced County Office of Education and the University of California at Merced and increase the number of students coming from underrepresented and underserved communities attending college.
