Help your Pre-K through rising 12th grade students increase their reading skills and comprehension.
Middle School – “MORE” Reading Series and “Sadlier-Oxford” Vocabulary
High School – As a student reaches higher grade levels and prepares for college, it is necessary to have solid reading skills, comprehension and vocabulary. This tutoring will help prepare a student for the complex questions on college entrance exams and for their English classes. A writing component can be incorporated as well.

Middle School – Preparation & Remediation –Covering Prealgebra and Geometry concepts, as well as numbers and operations
High School – Preparation & Remediation – We will work with your child throughout the summer to remediate skills from the previous year and introduce the next level course.

While technology is moving towards more visual and cryptic means of communicating, scientific research proves that writing is still essential to learning and information processing, as well as to effective communication. The Core curriculum incorporates more writing into all subjects, not just math, so competent writing skills are essential. Another benefit is that better writers make better readers.

Mentaur Learning has full curricula to address the needs of early elementary school students. Utilizing diagnostic assessments and other tools, we identify the areas of need for students and make sure all the gaps are filled in that may be keeping a student from learning. During the formative years is when it is so important for students to grasp the basics of phonics, reading and arithmetic. Learning the rules of the subjects and memorization are necessary if a student is going to be successful at grasping higher level thinking processes as they progress.

By third grade, a gateway year, children are expected to start comprehending what they read at a higher level. Understanding concepts like the author’s main purpose, cause-and-effect and sequencing begins to prepare students for more complicated texts as they journey toward middle school. They also begin doing more complex math, including some pre-algebra concepts; therefore it is vital for them to have mastered the fundamentals like multiplication tables, division, time and money. Mentaur Learning utilizes professional curricula to help reinforce these concepts or to help your child get ahead.

In Middle School, social issues become a challenge and so do academic and skills. Math classes are laying the basics for high school algebra and beyond. Getting a good grasp of these concepts is crucial to later success in math. English classes are continuing to enhance vocabulary, reading comprehension and writing skills which will increase success in high school English and standardized ACT and SAT testing. Mentaur Learning can help reinforce this crucial foundation and make transition to high school a little smoother.

Mentaur Learning is equipped to aid in all levels of Math (High School and College), Chemistry, English, Writing, and History. When performance in every class is now part of a transcript, it’s important to get help before getting too overwhelmed.

Mentaur Learning offers year-round ACT and SAT prep, and seasonal PSAT prep. All prep plans are one on one and are individualized to the student. Taking advantage of preparing for these tests, can secure acceptances to school of choice, garner scholarships, or earn in state tuition to an out of state school.
