Hello! My name is Ky Gay, and I have spent more than 20 years helping students build confidence, develop strong academic skills, and discover their full potential. My experience spans Pre-K through 12th Grade education, where I have served as a classroom teacher, academic coach, educational consultant, English Department Chairperson, College and Career Counselor, and School Psychologist. I hold an Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Mathematics and a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology focused on Learning Sciences and Special Education. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping students succeed in reading, writing, mathematics, executive functioning, and study skills.
I hold a New York State Teaching Certification and have received specialized training as an Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator and Wilson Reading System® Level II Dyslexia Therapy practitioner. I am also trained in Executive Functioning and ADHD Coaching, Structured Literacy, Reading Intervention, and Academic Support Services. My expertise includes working with students who have ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Processing Disorders, Executive Functioning challenges, and other learning differences. I believe every student can learn when instruction is personalized, engaging, and designed to meet their unique strengths and needs. My teaching approach combines evidence-based practices with creativity, encouragement, and high expectations to help students become confident and independent learners.
When I’m not teaching or coaching students, I enjoy creating innovative educational programs, writing curriculum materials, reading, graphic design, and spending time with my family. I am passionate about lifelong learning and continually seek new ways to help students grow both academically and personally. Whether a student needs support with foundational skills, advanced academics, organization, or confidence-building, I bring energy, compassion, and dedication to every session.
