Kip McGrath Ossett

Lesley-Ann Horder, the Centre Director of Kip McGrath Ossett, has over 30 years teaching experience as a classroom teacher, Special Educational Needs Coordinator and Deputy Headteacher in the Wakefield area. In 2013 she made the decision to leave the paperwork and targets behind to get back to helping students more directly by taking over Kip McGrath Ossett.

How does it work?

Parents are invited to bring their child along for a free diagnostic educational assessment.

This determines the areas of strength and difficulty and identifies the individual learning needs of the student. It also gives parents and students the opportunity to meet with the staff and see the centre.

Tuition takes place after school and at weekends with each teaching session lasting 80 minutes. Children are taught on a 1:1 basis within a small group of up to 5. Each child works at their own pace. They are challenged and extended but never overwhelmed.

Our aim is to give children and teenagers the confidence and skills needed to achieve their full potential.
