Getting to the root of the problem

At Jamaica Reads, our focus is on helping every learner develop the skills they need to solve problems and succeed in academia and life in general. 

We identify weaknesses and gaps that are contributing to low grades, poor comprehension, lack of interest, and more, and we tailor our classes to address those factors. 

We firmly believe that when a learner has a clear and solid grasp of foundational concepts rooted in the Science of Reading, learning and understanding more complex concepts will be easier and even fun. We will not ask a child to spell a word unless he has developed great phonemic awareness and phonetic skills. A student will not solve simultaneous equations without first being quickly able to recall multiplication tables. You can't write an essay before you can write a well-structured sentence and develop a logical position.

Our classes are not "extra lessons". We correct what has gone wrong in the process and put students on a true path to academic success.
