Hello, I am Teacher Isobel from the UK, and I have been teaching English as a 2nd language for about 20 years in many countries across Southeast Asia and Europe, to students of many different levels and nationalities. Before becoming an English teacher, I practiced Law in Nottingham, England. During that time, I had the opportunity to visit colleagues in the Legal field in North Cyprus. Through these connections, I was introduced to the diplomatic staff of the late President, MR Rauf Denktas. and was offered a position teaching Vocational and Conversational English to the junior members of the diplomatic staff. I returned to England, obtained my Cambridge CELTA, and then returned to Cyprus, where my new career as a teacher began. I became an online English Teacher about 7 years ago after moving to Turkey, primarily teaching conversational English to small groups of university students, as well as Vocational and Business English to Lawyers and managerial personnel in the medical field on a One-to-One basis. I have found this both exciting and rewarding. Building a rapport with my students is an important part of the lesson, as well as having a strong understanding of different cultures, levels, and the needs of each student.
In my lessons, my students can expect to find a friendly and patient teaching style, where my students feel comfortable, supported and excited to participate.
