Message from the Founder of Islamia Schools Trust

Over a quarter of a century ago we had a dream to provide Muslim children of all ages and backgrounds with a first class, modern education whilst also catering for their Islamic identity and upbringing.

The Islamia Primary School, founded in 1983, was the realisation of that vision and through dedication and hard work what started as the first full-time Muslim primary school in London has gone on to become probably the best known Islamic school in Britain. In 1998 it was the first Muslim school in the country to be awarded state funding. Today it is home to pupils of over fifty different nationalities, speaking dozens of languages.

Good education is the right of every child to enable them to make their way in life. At Islamia Primary School our aim is to offer our young boys and girls a sense of Islamic identity, supported by the home and coupled with a strong academic grounding. This will prepare students for secondary education and contribution to the wider multi-cultural world as morally-guided citizens and role models.

The school is always massively oversubscribed and the current school building, which dates back to 1895, is now inadequate to meet the needs of our growing school community. This brochure sets out a new vision for the school’s future enlargement with innovative state-of-the-art facilities and a setting that will enable us to nurture our children towards making a positive difference today and tomorrow, insha’Allah.

Your moral and financial support will be gratefully received.
