About

The International Language Institute (ILI) is the perfect school to study and learn English in Washington, DC, the capital of the USA. We have twelve levels of English classes and TOEFL, GRE and GMAT preparation courses. We also have group classes in twelve foreign languages: Arabic, Chinese, Mandarin, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Each class has a maximum of nine students and we only hire native speaking, experienced instructors. Students can also learn any other language in a private tutorial class. If you are interested in becoming an English teacher you can register for our TESOL (TEFL) certificate course. All of our programs are accredited by ACCET. We are located right in the heart of the city, in the vibrant Dupont Circle area and right across from the Metro.

Courses/Programs offered

English Program Intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) Day Program : ILI has become known for its excellent teachers and friendly atmosphere and is committed to providing quality language instruction as well as the help, services, and support our students need to study effectively in the United States. Most of our students take the intensive English day classes (ESL classes), which are Monday through Friday from 9 am to 2:10 pm, including a short morning break (10:40-10:55 am) and a lunch break (11:45 am -12:30 pm). F-1 Visa Information : Whether you are a new student from abroad wanting to come to the U.S. to study English or a transferring student from another school, here is all the information you need to obtain an I-20 form from ILI. Housing : Homestay is available for our F-1 students who wish to stay with one of our selected families during their visit in the U.S. and enjoy total immersion into American living, culture, and language. TOEFL Preparation Prepare for the TOEFL in person or online from a live instructor using Zoom! You can choose which platform you prefer: Some students want to be in the classroom, others want to study online via Zoom. At ILI, you can do either. We have 360-degree cameras in our classrooms enabling online students to feel part of the class. This hybrid class environment allows students to engage with each other and the instructor and to practice reading, writing, listening, and speaking the English Language.
