About

If you truely want to understand maths and science, how they relate to each other and the world about us, and succeed in exams, then I am here to help you.

I live in Great Grimsby, Lincolnshire. I have eight years experience as a professional science and maths tutor teaching adults and school students GCSE and A level Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. I tutor face to face and online.

My first degree (BSc) was in Biology (University of Manchester). My MSc was on mathematical modelling of genetic systems (University of Birmingham ) and my PhD (University of Nottingham) and subsequent postdoctoral research in the USA and UK was in molecular biology and chemistry. I have a record of published research and I have taught in universities in UK and USA.

Working closely with Sir David King (former government chief scientist) and Lord Sainsbury (former science minister) I led large teams in central government to help develop government policy to address emerging science issues in nanotechnology and gene technology. I was also involved in developing technology roadmaps to help implement a smart electricity distribution network. I represented both the UK government and the EU in climate change negotiations at the United Nations in relation to improving the resiliance of the UK and developing countries to the impacts of climate change.
