I’m a PhD-trained scientist with several years of experience teaching, mentoring and supporting students from secondary school through to university. I particularly enjoy teaching GCSE and A-Level Biology, as well as supporting younger students with Maths and Science.
My experience includes working as a Maths and Science Progress Coach supporting students with SEN, teaching university practical classes, mentoring undergraduate and Master’s students, and delivering engaging science sessions to secondary school pupils.
I love working one-to-one because it allows me to understand how each student learns and tailor my teaching to their individual needs. My approach is calm, patient and encouraging, with a strong focus on building confidence, simplifying difficult concepts and helping students develop effective problem-solving and exam skills. I also enjoy bringing real-world examples from my career in cancer research into lessons.
Outside tutoring, I love playing football and racquet sports, and I also play a bit of guitar!
