They receive an introduction to American government and civics. Students are also introduced to topics in economics and geography. Tutors help students learn to use a variety of resources to develop foundational thinking and problem-solving skills. Students learn how to use maps and data. They read important documents like the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. Students will also learn the foundations of writing for social studies classes.

event_available Science Science is the study of our natural world. Science not only investigates our world, but develops critical thinking, which helps foster valuable life skills, problem solving, and communication aptitude. Science is broken down into many fields and disciplines that elementary students soon learn to differentiate. At each grade level, science becomes increasingly complex with the expectation of increased science vocabulary and understanding.
event_available Advanced Placement (AP) College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) program provides students the opportunity to pursue college-level coursework in high school. This not only gives students a chance to push themselves academically, but it also helps them to better prepare for college readiness and success. Also, it provides students the potential to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both while still in high school. In the month of May, students take a comprehensive exam that assesses their critical thinking, argument-based writing skills, and the ability to analyze multiple perspectives—all vital skills for post-secondary academic success.
