My Expertise

I'm Martin and I am an experienced tutor in Science and Maths for Year 7s and above. Although I generally work on a one-to-one basis, I do also run regular Science workshops and Science and Maths GCSE revision sessions around Easter time. These Science Workshops are predominantly practical sessions. My particular speciality is in pre-GCSE tuition for Years 9-11. Although I can also offer A Level Biology. I offer confidence boosting learning support and Mentoring for those Students who are struggling to realise their true potential or have fallen out of the Mainstream system.

My Methods

Unlike a lot of other Tutors, I don't just work from books but provide personalized and tailored tuition to all my Students. This is based on their individual needs and style of learning. I follow curricula from the main exam boards such as AQA, Edexcel and OCR. I also provide revision sessions and guidance on exam technique and Past Paper Exam practice.

My Background

I've worked in the field of education and training for most of my adult life. In my early career I, primarily, worked with adults. Then around 15 years ago I switched to working with young adults and teenagers, in firstly a mainstream School and then at a Special School. This was a School for those with more specific individual needs who may have, for example, been excluded from Mainstream education or even Home-Schooled due to having ASD or ADHD etc.
