event_available Test Prep SAT TEST PREPARATION: The SAT is used by colleges and universities as part of their admission requirements. It is also used to determine NCAA and scholarship eligibility. The test is designed to measure language skills (Reading and Writing) and Math reasoning skills. PSAT/NMSQT: (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a standardized exam that opens doors for National Merit Scholarship programs if taken in the 11th grade. We HIGHLY recommend all our 10th graders and 11th graders who are targeting NMQST to take this test. Every year many of our students qualify for this high competitive scholarship program. ACT TEST PREPARATION: The ACT is equally accepted by all colleges and universities in the United States. Axios tutors provides highest quality ACT test preparation to the Pittsburgh area students. The ACT, typically taken by high school juniors and seniors, measures student achievement in 4 subject areas including English, math, reading, and science plus writing. AP PREP: AP exams are given once a year in May. Most of the exams take two to three hours to complete and consists of multiple choice and free response questions. Results from the exams are usually made available by July.

We strive to boost students’ confidence by strengthening their note-taking, reading comprehension, and organizational skills: the kindling needed to ignite their academic potential. 11TH & 12TH GRADES: College entrance exams loom large in the lives of high school juniors and seniors; our tutors are certified to deliver expert guidance in both ACT and SAT test preparation, as well as all Advanced Placement test subject areas. Offering group classes and one-on-one sessions, Axios tutors provide strategic feedback on a series of official practice exams, assigned to develop muscle memory and test-taking skills. As a result, our students report reduced anxiety during actual exam days and enjoy higher overall scores.
event_available DIAGNOSTICS TESTING Diagnostic testing is a critical part of test preparation. Pre-registration is required for taking any of the tests below. There is a one-time new student registration fee for taking the test. You can register for the test below or by calling our office. Full length actual conditions tests are critical components of SAT/ ACT test preparation. Just like a runner will run many practice marathons before their actual marathon or a musical will do many dress rehearsals, going beyond the homework and sessions to take full length practice tests before the actual test is the only way to determine what is working and what is not. Practice tests provide insight into time management, fatigue, point cost factor, and other test-taking tendencies. Testing is also available for: Actual conditions AP Testing, Actual conditions ISEE, SSAT and HSPT, Diagnostic Math Evaluation.
